Qiniso Matsebula selected as Mandela Washington Fellow by US Embassy Eswatini

The US Embassy in Eswatini proudly announced today that Qiniso Matsebula has been chosen as one of the esteemed Mandela Washington Fellows for the year 2023. Qiniso will be pursuing a course in Leadership in Civic Engagement at the University of Georgia, marking a significant milestone in his impressive career.

Boasting over a decade of experience in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, Qiniso currently serves as the operations manager at SwaziSat Internet Service Provider. His primary focus lies in customer support and relationships management, where he has showcased exceptional skills and dedication.

In addition to his ICT expertise, Qiniso is also a co-founder and director of the Lovefield Chess Academy. The academy’s mission is to nurture the minds of young individuals, creating future leaders through the development of their cognitive abilities from an early age. Qiniso’s contributions to the academy have been invaluable, and he has played an instrumental role in shaping the next generation of talented chess players.

Qiniso pursued his studies in ICT at the Vaal University of Technology, acquiring a strong academic foundation in the field. Furthermore, he had the privilege of being an alumnus of the Intense Village Boardroom Experience, a program that provided him with unique insights and invaluable networking opportunities.

Notably, Qiniso’s passion extends beyond his professional endeavors. He has represented the Eswatini national chess team in two Olympiads held in Baku, Azerbaijan, and Batumi, Georgia, respectively. This demonstrates his exceptional skill and dedication to the sport, where he has proudly showcased his country on the international stage.

With a deep-rooted commitment to social justice, Qiniso is passionate about creating equal opportunities for the less fortunate and marginalized communities within society. His ultimate goal is to empower individuals to realize their dreams and fulfill their ambitions. Upon completing the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Qiniso plans to establish Eswatini’s first indoor fun and adventure park, accompanied by a world-class soft skills academy.

The news of Qiniso’s selection as a Mandela Washington Fellow has been met with widespread celebration and well-wishes from both the local community and beyond. His dedication, leadership, and passion for empowering others have made him a true inspiration for the nation.
