Cairo – 3 June 2023: US First Lady Jill Biden embarked on a Middle East tour to promote women and youth empowerment, making a significant stop at the iconic Pyramids of Giza on Saturday. During her visit to Cairo, Biden expressed her admiration for the magnificent pyramids, considering it a remarkable way to begin her day. Sharing her experience on her Twitter account, she highlighted the grandeur of the historical landmark.

Accompanied by the President of Al Azhar, Dr. Osama Daoud, Jill Biden continued her tour by visiting Al Azhar Mosque, a renowned archaeological mosque with a history spanning over 1,083 years. Recognized as a leading institution for spreading and teaching enlightened Islam, the mosque has attracted students from around the globe seeking knowledge in Arabic and Sharia sciences.

Exploring the ancient historical arcades and minarets, Dr. Jill Biden attentively listened to an explanation provided by Dr. Daoud, gaining deeper insights into the mosque’s significance. In a statement issued by the White House, she expressed her honor and gratitude for the warm welcome and work extended by the Grand Imam and the accompanying officials.

Addressing her visit to Egypt, the US First Lady expressed her appreciation for the warm reception she received from Mrs. Amer, along with a special lunch and welcome from Egypt’s President.
