Zambia’s President seeks economic ties with UAE Ambassador

Zambia’s President, Hakainde Hichilema, held a productive meeting with His Excellency Khalifa Abdulrahman Almarzooqi, the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Dar es Salaam and accredited to Zambia, at State House on Friday, May 26th, 2023. The meeting marked an opportunity for fruitful discussions and the exchange of a special message from His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE Ambassador led a delegation of business leaders from IRH Holdings RSC Limited, aiming to explore potential business opportunities in mining and various sectors within Zambia. President Hichilema took the occasion to extend his congratulations to the UAE for their effective management of the economy and remarkable growth that has benefited their people.

Zambia and the UAE have maintained a cordial relationship founded on mutual trust and cooperation. As Zambia focuses on rebuilding its economy, the country seeks to draw inspiration from the UAE’s past experiences. Both nations share a common background of abundant natural resources, requiring financial and technological support to maximize their potential.
