Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) met with Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development on the sidelines of the 17th annual exhibition and conference of ‘the Middle East Rail’ in Abu Dhabi. The meeting focused on strengthening relations with Tehran and exploring the potential of utilizing the North-South corridor for enhanced connectivity.

Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazr-Pash, attended the prestigious event in Abu Dhabi to expand transportation and commercial ties with the UAE and other regional countries. The visit was made at the invitation of the UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei.

During their meeting, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei emphasized the UAE’s commitment to developing relations with Persian Gulf countries, with particular emphasis on Iran. He highlighted the significance of utilizing the North-South corridor, which passes through Iran, as a valuable opportunity for the UAE. The corridor holds the potential to enhance trade and connectivity between the two nations and the broader region.

Mehrdad Bazr-Pash, Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, echoed the importance of fostering closer ties between the UAE and Iran. He expressed optimism about the completion of the southern coastal corridor within the next two years, which will further facilitate transportation and trade activities.

The Middle East Rail conference and exhibition served as an ideal platform for these high-level discussions, providing an opportunity for representatives from the UAE and Iran to engage in meaningful dialogue and explore avenues for collaboration. The event showcased the latest advancements and trends in the rail industry, with a particular focus on fostering connectivity and driving economic growth in the region.

The meeting between the UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development marked a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting mutual cooperation. Both sides acknowledged the potential benefits of utilizing transportation corridors, such as the North-South corridor, in fostering trade, investment, and regional integration.
