Abu Dhabi, UAE – Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, attended a reception on Sunday hosted by Amir Hayek, Israeli Ambassador to the UAE, in honor of his country’s National Day. The reception took place at the Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers and was attended by several officials and members of the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps accredited to the UAE.
During the reception, the Israeli Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the strong and developing bilateral relations between his country and the UAE. He highlighted the continuous growth and expansion of cooperation between the two nations across various sectors, while also emphasizing Israel’s eagerness to continue strengthening these ties in the future.
The Israeli-UAE diplomatic relations were officially established in September 2020, following the historic Abraham Accords agreement that was signed at the White House in Washington, D.C. Since then, the two countries have embarked on a journey of mutual cooperation, exchange of knowledge, and trade relations. The ties have led to an increasing number of high-level visits and joint ventures between the nations.
The UAE has become the third Arab country to officially recognize Israel’s existence, after Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994. The Abraham Accords have opened up new opportunities for both nations, with Israel now able to establish trade and business relations with the UAE and other Gulf countries, while the UAE can benefit from Israel’s technological advancements in various fields.
The reception hosted by the Israeli Ambassador in Abu Dhabi highlighted the strong and growing relationship between Israel and the UAE, and their joint efforts to expand cooperation in various areas. The UAE’s participation in the event demonstrates its commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties and building bridges of peace and prosperity between nations.
