His Excellency, President Dr. Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi of Botswana held a bilateral meeting with Estonia’s President, Mr. Alar Karis, at the Botswana High Commission in London yesterday. The meeting focused on digitalization, as Botswana has made it one of the five priorities of their government and is seeking to enhance relations with Estonia, particularly in the ICT sector.
Estonia, a member state of the EU, is recognized as one of the world’s most advanced digital societies and a leader in digital transformation. With over 30 years of experience in digital transformation, Estonia is well-suited to collaborate with Botswana and offer their expertise in the digital space.

During the meeting, President Masisi emphasized the importance of digitalization for Botswana’s future, while President Karis expressed his government’s eagerness to work with Botswana and share their knowledge in the field.
The two countries have had a longstanding relationship dating back to 2003, and this meeting reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties and exploring opportunities for cooperation.
