Emirates has announced a new partnership with the Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) in a bid to boost tourism in the North African country. The move is set to enhance Morocco’s appeal in new and existing source markets across Emirates’ network.
Morocco has been an important market for Emirates over the years, with cities like Casablanca and Marrakech among the most visited in North Africa. Over 11 million people visited Morocco in 2022, and Q1 2023 saw a 17% increase compared to the same period last year.
With excellent economic and diplomatic ties between Morocco and the UAE, both parties will discover opportunities for shared marketing activities, including familiarization trips to Morocco, promotional flights, advertising campaigns, and joint activities with trade partners in feasible markets within GCC, the Far East, West Asia, and the Indian Ocean.
The MoU between the two parties was signed by Emirates Senior Vice President Commercial Operations for Africa Badr Abbas and MNTO Chief Executive Officer Mr Adel El Fakir. Emirates offers daily flights between Dubai International (DXB) and Casablanca Mohammed V International (CMN) airports, and is the largest operator of the Airbus A380, which it recently began deploying to Casablanca to meet increasing travel demand in and out of Morocco.
In May 2022, Emirates and Royal Air Maroc signed a codeshare agreement, offering customers more travel choices and convenience on both airlines’ networks. In addition to Casablanca, Emirates customers have access to 17 Moroccan destinations through the partnership.
Morocco has become a must-visit for many tourists who seek to explore the Atlas Mountains, the Moroccan Desert, its food, culture, and unique architecture. This new partnership is set to attract even more visitors to the country, helping to boost its economy and enhance its global profile.
