In a bid to support Sudanese refugees affected by the current situation in the Republic of Sudan, the UAE has sent a plane carrying urgent food supplies to Abeche Airport on the Sudanese-Chadian border. The aid was sent through the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.
The current situation in Sudan has led to the displacement of thousands of families and a shortage of basic food supplies, particularly for the most vulnerable groups, including the sick, children, elderly, and women. The dispatch of these supplies is part of the urgent response to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of displaced Sudanese nationals on the Chadian border and mitigate the lack of food supplies.
The UAE leadership’s keenness and directives to contribute to international relief efforts, assist the Sudanese people, and stand by countries and peoples in times of need are reflected in this gesture. The aid sent to the Sudanese refugees is expected to provide much-needed relief to the affected families.
This initiative is yet another testament to the UAE’s unwavering commitment to supporting humanitarian causes and providing relief to those in need, both domestically and internationally. The UAE has always been at the forefront of humanitarian efforts, and this latest move reinforces its reputation as a responsible global citizen.
