Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, has led a delegation from the UAE on an official visit to Uzbekistan. The visit, which took place from April 26th to April 27th, 2023, included the third round of political consultations between the UAE and Uzbekistan and the second Tashkent International Investment Forum.
On the first day, the officials reviewed areas of cooperation and bilateral strategic relations, while exploring ways to enhance them. They commended the achievements of the UAE-Uzbekistan strategic partnership in government modernisation and exchanged views on regional and international issues.

The second day saw Al Mazrouei participate in a panel discussion at the investment forum, in the presence of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Al Mazrouei congratulated Uzbekistan for successfully hosting the event and emphasised that cooperation between the two countries is not limited to clean and green energy sectors. He highlighted the UAE’s keenness to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan in various fields, including transport and infrastructure.
Al Mazrouei also affirmed that UAE companies, such as Mubadala, Masdar, and Taqa, are currently operating in Uzbekistan and have future plans to increase their investments. President Mirziyoyev commended the strategic partnership between the UAE and Uzbekistan, underscoring the importance of Masdar projects in Uzbekistan.
At the end of the forum, President Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Al Mazrouei and Saeed Matar Al Qemzi, UAE Ambassador to Uzbekistan, where they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two nations. The UAE delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Masdar, and Dubai Ports.
