On April 7, Bac Ninh’s authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) co-hosted an event to showcase the charming features of the northern province. The event, called the “Learning about Vietnam Session,” was attended by nearly 150 foreign and domestic diplomats, representatives of foreign organizations, and business associations in Vietnam. The session, which is held annually by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2015, aims to highlight Vietnam’s socioeconomic achievements and promote its culture to the international community.

During his opening speech, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed Bac Ninh’s desire to receive support from the attendees in promoting the province’s image, cultural value, and business climate worldwide. He also requested assistance in the province’s efforts to have the local Dong Ho folk painting profession listed as part of the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding in 2024.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc pledged continued support for Bac Ninh in preserving its cultural heritage and introducing it to international audiences.

Before the speeches, attendees were treated to cultural activities such as touring the Dong Ho folk painting conservation center in Thuan Thanh town, sampling local cuisine, and watching Bac Ninh’s Quan ho (love duet) singing, which is an intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO.
