With its stunning coastline, rich culture, and warm people, Mozambique is quickly becoming a top travel destination. This southern African nation is often overlooked by tourists, but those who venture here are rewarded with pristine beaches, delicious cuisine, a rich history, and a vibrant culture. Now, with the recent launch of the eVisa facility, it’s easier than ever to visit Mozambique.

The eVisa system allows travelers to apply for and receive a visa online before their trip. This makes the process much faster and more convenient than applying for a visa in person. The eVisa is available to citizens of 48 countries, including the United States, Canada, and most of Europe.

Once you have your visa, there’s so much to see and do in Mozambique. Start by exploring the stunning beaches that line the coast. From popular spots like Tofo and Vilankulo to hidden gems like Ilha de Moçambique, there’s a beach for every type of traveler. The warm waters are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving.

Mozambique also has a rich cultural heritage, with a mix of indigenous, colonial, and Islamic influences. Explore historic sites like the 16th-century Fortress of Maputo or the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Island of Mozambique, a former Portuguese trading post.

The country is known for its lively music and dance scene as well, with styles ranging from marrabenta (a fusion of African, Latin, and Portuguese rhythms) to the traditional timbila music of the Chopi people. Don’t miss the chance to experience a live performance during your trip.

For wildlife lovers, Mozambique has a diverse array of animals to discover. Go on a safari in Gorongosa National Park or take a boat trip to spot dolphins and humpback whales in the Bazaruto Archipelago.
