Mbabane, Eswatini – A local dietitian, Celiwe Nsibande, has been awarded a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in Health Policy at Tulane University in New Orleans, the United States Embassy in Eswatini announced today.

Nsibande, a holder of a Bachelor of Medical Science Honors degree in Dietetics from the University of Cape Town, brings a wealth of experience to her academic pursuit. With six years of hands-on practice as a Registered Dietitian in both public and private healthcare settings in Eswatini, she has made significant contributions to the nation’s health sector.

Her professional journey includes providing critical nutrition care to patients battling MDR-TB and cancer at a government hospital. Nsibande has also been instrumental in various nutrition programs and has offered her expertise to community and corporate projects through her private consultancy.

Driven by a desire to deepen her understanding of Eswatini’s healthcare system, Nsibande is eager to apply her knowledge to address health inequities. Upon completing her Master’s, she aims to develop innovative health policies that enhance efficiency and performance within the healthcare sector. Her focus will be on creating sustainable health financing models through collaboration between the public and private sectors.
