During his address, President Hichilema called on Zambians to continue embracing their culture and traditions, which he said are fundamental to national identity. He praised the 30 traditional leaders from across the country who attended the event, urging them to maintain their efforts in promoting national unity.
The President also urged traditional leaders to combat harmful practices such as child marriages, which he noted have severe negative impacts on health and education, and perpetuate poverty. He emphasized the importance of taking advantage of the government’s free education policy to ensure all children have access to schooling.

President Hichilema highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to address climate change and appealed for collective action from citizens to support these initiatives.

The event concluded with a special acknowledgment to His Royal Highness, Senior Chief Shakumbila, and all traditional leaders present at Chisalu Palace.
