Accra, Ghana – This week, the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel buzzed with activity as Ghana hosted the inaugural Electric Revolution Africa (ERA) E-Mobility Conference. Themed “The New ERA: Innovation and Sustainability”, the event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and development partners to chart a course for a cleaner future.

The conference served as a springboard for collaboration, with participants exploring ways to foster business partnerships and accelerate the growth of Africa’s e-mobility ecosystem. Discussions tackled pressing policy challenges and delved into strategies to leverage sustainable e-mobility solutions.
Yofi Grant, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), took center stage during a panel discussion on trade and investment in the electric revolution. Grant underscored the immense potential of the e-mobility sector for Ghana and the continent as a whole, citing success stories like Wahu Mobility. He emphasized the importance of a solid foundation, stressing the need for thorough research and development, coupled with efforts to shift consumer behavior towards embracing electric vehicles. Grant also highlighted government initiatives, including the development of a national e-mobility framework, aimed at bolstering the industry and attracting further investment.

The conference culminated in a captivating exhibition showcasing cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) technology. Attendees were treated to a firsthand glimpse of the innovative solutions shaping the future of e-mobility in Africa.
