Vilnius, Lithuania – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) showcased its commitment to combating corruption on the world stage by participating in the 21st International Anti-Corruption Conference held in Vilnius, Lithuania. The conference, themed “Confronting Global Threats: Standing Up for Integrity,” brought together delegates from around the globe to discuss and strategize anti-corruption efforts.
Leading the UAE delegation was Humaid Obaid Abushibs, President of the UAE Accountability Authority (UAEAA). The UAEAA’s presence underscored the government’s dedication to fostering international dialogue and collaboration in the fight for global integrity.
Beyond attending the conference sessions, the UAE delegation actively sought out opportunities for cooperation. Meetings were held with key figures like Linas Pernavas, President of the General Assembly of the European Partners Against Corruption (EPAC), and Veronica Dragalin, Chief of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of Moldova. These discussions focused on identifying potential partnerships and initiatives to further strengthen anti-corruption measures across participating countries.
