Yaw Afriyie, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), participated as a panelist at the 17th Wampex/Wampoc conference held at the Accra International Conference Centre last week. The conference, a platform for industry leaders to discuss innovative financial solutions in the mining and energy sectors, facilitated discussions on improving access to financing for entrepreneurs.
During the panel discussion, Mr. Afriyie underscored the crucial advocacy role played by the GIPC, leading to significant localization initiatives across various industries, including mining and energy. He emphasized the importance of ring-fencing funding for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in these sectors.
Supported by the Ghana Chamber of Mines, the WAMPEX conference serves as a showcase for the latest innovations and solutions in the mining industry. It brings together senior mining and power professionals, government leaders, and stakeholders to exchange insights on industry advancements, address key challenges, and explore future opportunities.
