South Sudan’s New Foreign Affairs Leadership Meets Ambassadors

Juba, May 7, 2024 (MFA&IC) – The newly appointed leadership of South Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation convened for an inaugural session with Ambassadors accredited to the country, aiming to foster seamless communication and enhance diplomatic collaboration.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Ramadam Mohammed Abdallah Goc, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, introduced the new team and underscored the significance of diplomatic relations with the accredited community. He emphasized the pivotal role of the Foreign Ministry as the gateway to South Sudanese institutions.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Amb. Monday Semaya Kumba, expressed gratitude to the Ambassadors for their presence, affirming the new leadership’s commitment to close cooperation with them.

Similarly, Hon. John Samuel, the new Undersecretary in the Ministry, urged Ambassadors to utilize the Foreign Ministry as the primary channel for engagement with South Sudanese institutions.

Ethiopian Ambassador Nabil Mahdi, speaking on behalf of the Ambassadors, extended congratulations to the new leadership, expressing confidence in their ability to elevate diplomatic relations with the international community.
