Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister, Taye Atske Selassie, held a farewell ceremony for outgoing Chinese Ambassador Zhao Zhiyuan, who recently concluded his diplomatic service in Ethiopia.

He highlighted the landmark achievement of elevating their relationship to an “All Weather Strategic Partnership,” a testament to the exceptional and enduring ties between the two nations.

Another major development during Ambassador Zhao’s tenure was China’s backing for Ethiopia’s potential membership in the BRICS economic bloc. The Foreign Minister acknowledged this as a further symbol of the flourishing partnership.

Minister Selassie also noted the completion of various development projects in Ethiopia made possible by Chinese government support.
