Three ships and a barge carrying hundreds of tonnes of food have set sail for northern Gaza, marking the departure of the second maritime aid shipment organized by the UAE and World Central Kitchen.
This vital aid includes shelf-stable, ready-to-eat items like rice, pasta, and canned goods, enough to provide over one million meals to Palestinians facing food insecurity.
The historic opening of this maritime route, facilitated by World Central Kitchen, Open Arms, Cyprus, and the UAE, allows for a significant increase in humanitarian aid reaching Gaza. This comes after World Central Kitchen already delivered over 43 million meals across land, air, and sea to the region.
The UAE has also played a crucial role, providing 26,000 tonnes of urgent supplies, including food, water, and medical aid, through various channels.
