The Lesotho Embassy in Beijing hosted a grand event to commemorate a trifecta of milestones: the 200th anniversary of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Moshoeshoe Day, and 30 years of diplomatic relations with China.
The day began with a closed-door business forum, where representatives from 20 Chinese companies gained insights into Lesotho’s investment climate and potential opportunities. This was followed by a vibrant cultural exchange, showcasing Chinese calligraphy and paintings alongside Lesotho’s traditional pottery, weaved wall mats, and pictures.
Over 30 members of the Lesotho diaspora in China turutled out, adding a lively touch to the celebrations with traditional dances. The festivities culminated in a diplomatic reception attended by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and resident African diplomatic missions in Beijing.
Lesotho Ambassador Sentle K. Rabale addressed the gathering, providing a historical perspective on King Moshoeshoe I and the nation’s 200-year journey. He also highlighted the recent achievements Lesotho and China have accomplished through their warm bilateral relations.
