UAE President meets Turkish Vice President

ABU DHABI, 22nd June, 2023 (WAM) -President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today met with Cevdet Yilmaz, Vice President of Türkiye, to discuss ways to further develop cooperation between the two countries within the framework of their Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
ABU DHABI, 22nd June, 2023 (WAM) -President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today met with Cevdet Yilmaz, Vice President of Türkiye, to discuss ways to further develop cooperation between the two countries within the framework of their Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.

ABU DHABI, 22nd June, 2023 – President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Cevdet Yilmaz, Vice President of Türkiye, at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, to discuss the expansion of cooperation between the two nations under their Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. The meeting aimed to explore opportunities for economic growth, investment, food security, renewable energy, and environmental initiatives, among other areas of mutual interest.

Welcoming Vice President Yilmaz and his accompanying delegation, President Sheikh Mohamed conveyed warm greetings from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and expressed his hopes for continued prosperity and progress for the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In return, Sheikh Mohamed extended his greetings to President Erdogan, wishing Türkiye and its people further development and growth. The UAE President also congratulated Mr Yilmaz on his recent appointment as Vice President of Türkiye, offering his best wishes for success in his new role.

The discussions between President Sheikh Mohamed and Vice President Yilmaz centered on the vast potential to enhance economic cooperation between their countries. Recognizing the importance of sustainable development, the leaders explored avenues for collaboration in various sectors. These encompassed economic opportunities, investment prospects, food security, renewable energy initiatives, environmental conservation, and other areas crucial to the long-term goals of both nations.

Addressing regional and international affairs, President Sheikh Mohamed and Vice President Yilmaz emphasized their shared commitment to promoting peace and stability globally. They reiterated their dedication to bolstering cooperation to tackle common challenges and foster an environment conducive to growth and prosperity.

Expressing his pleasure at visiting the UAE, Vice President Yilmaz expressed his appreciation for the warm reception he received. He stressed Türkiye’s eagerness to deepen bilateral relations in ways that serve the interests of both nations and contribute to their economic advancement. Both leaders highlighted the importance of forging new avenues for economic cooperation to further drive development.

The high-level meeting was attended by several prominent figures from the UAE, including Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Special Affairs Advisor at the Presidential Court; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice; and Mohamed Hassan AlSuwaidi, Managing Director, and Chief Executive Officer of ADQ.

Representing the Turkish side were Mehmet Simsek, Treasury and Finance Minister; Tugay Tuncer, Ambassador of Türkiye to the UAE; and several other senior officials.
