Dubai, May 11, 2023 – His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, graced a reception hosted by the British Embassy in Dubai to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The event was attended by prominent figures including Edward Hobart, the British Ambassador to the UAE, and Simon Penney, the British Consul General for Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Sheikh Ahmed emphasized the deep historical ties between the UAE and the UK on the occasion of King Charles III’s ascension to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. He conveyed his wishes for prosperity and progress to the UK and its people, while expressing hope for the further strengthening of partnerships in various domains for the benefit of both nations.

The British Consul General praised the UAE leadership’s unwavering commitment to fostering strong relations with the UK. He highlighted King Charles’ admiration for the UAE, having visited the country eight times, including a recent visit in November 2016. The Consul General commended the robust relationship built through constructive cooperation in diverse fields over the years.

During the reception, Sheikh Ahmed had the opportunity to view a painting depicting significant milestones in King Charles’ life.

Senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and business leaders were among the distinguished guests in attendance at the reception.
