The crisis in Sudan has been a major cause for concern for leaders around the world, and the Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, has joined the call for concerted action to address the issue.

Speaking at the 10th General Assembly of the Africa First Ladies Peace Mission (AFLPM) held at the State House in Abuja on Monday, Mrs. Buhari urged all stakeholders to work together to prevent the situation from escalating further.

The humanitarian crisis in Sudan has affected women and children the most, and Mrs. Buhari emphasized the need for greater strategies to address their needs. She also noted the impact of other challenges such as banditry, insurgency, internal strife, and coup d’états on women’s peace and security in Africa.

Mrs. Buhari called on all stakeholders to support women and young girls, and to ensure that they are not seen as victims of the war but as part of the solution. She emphasized the importance of constructive engagement and peacebuilding to achieve this.

The AFLPM is an organization made up of the wives of African leaders who work together to promote peace and security on the continent. The General Assembly provides a platform for them to discuss issues of mutual concern and strategize on how best to address them.

Mrs. Buhari’s call to action underscores the urgency of the situation in Sudan and the need for all hands to be on deck to prevent it from spiraling out of control. It is hoped that her message will inspire other leaders to take decisive action to address the crisis and support the people of Sudan.
