The 2025 Eswatini National Science Week (ENSW) came to a close with a powerful message from Minister of ICT, Savannah Maziya. She called on emaSwati students to leverage their innovative solutions to address real-world issues such as poverty, climate change, and inequality.
Speaking at the event’s closing, Maziya encouraged the country’s youth to apply the groundbreaking projects showcased during the week to solve global challenges. “The greatest innovation is that which not only solves problems but also shows compassion,” she said, urging students to use their creativity for the greater good.
The week, held under the theme “Igniting Curiosity, Inspiring Innovation: Science for Sustainable Economic Growth,” focused on empowering young people through STEM education, digital transformation, and innovation. Students, educators, and industry leaders were given the opportunity to present their work in fields such as robotics, ICT, and renewable energy, demonstrating Eswatini’s growing commitment to technological advancement.
During the week, the Minister of Education and Training, Owen Nxumalo, launched the Africa Educates Her Campaign, further emphasizing Eswatini’s dedication to equal access for women and girls in STEM education.
