Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto, chair of the East African Community (EAC), met with a high-level delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to discuss the escalating crisis in Eastern DRC.
The delegation, led by former Deputy Prime Minister Lambert Mende, was in Kenya to explore possible solutions, building on agreements made at the Joint Summit of EAC and SADC in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and the African Union Peace and Security Council meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Mende was joined by President Félix Tshisekedi’s High Representative Sambu Mambu, Public Works Minister Alexis Gisaro, and Trade Minister Julien Paluku.
