Dr. Ed Barnett MBE, Deputy High Commissioner at the British High Commission in Nairobi and Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN-Habitat, held discussions with Hon. Charles Keter, Kenya’s Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region, during a courtesy visit on Monday.
The talks centered on the longstanding Kenya-UK partnership, with particular focus on trade, peace, and security collaborations. Both officials exchanged updates on peace initiatives across the Great Lakes Region, addressing the ongoing efforts to stabilize areas affected by conflict.
Dr. Barnett reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to supporting peace processes in Sudan, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
