On October 12, 2024, Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi met with Swedish Ambassador to Somalia, Joachim Waern, at the Ministry’s Headquarters. The discussions centered on enhancing collaboration between Somalia and Sweden in security, human rights, and support for Somalia’s sovereignty.

FM Fiqi outlined key outcomes from the recent Asmara Trilateral talks involving Somalia, Egypt, and Eritrea, noting their role in promoting regional peace and development, particularly in improving Somalia’s military capabilities.
