Lesotho Appoints New Ambassador to Belgium

Maseru, Lesotho – His Majesty King Letsie III has appointed Mrs. ‘Mantoetsi Mohatonyane as the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Lesotho to the Kingdom of Belgium. The appointment was made at the Royal Palace in Maseru on September 11, 2024.

Ambassador Mohatonyane replaces Dr. ‘Matumelo Ponts’o Sekatle, whose term as ambassador has concluded.

With a strong background in both academia and politics, Ambassador Mohatonyane brings a wealth of experience to Lesotho’s diplomatic service. Prior to her appointment, she served as a Member of Parliament under Proportional Representation. She has also held positions as Deputy Minister of Health and Deputy Minister of Education and Training.

Before entering politics, Ambassador Mohatonyane worked as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Globalization at the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT). She holds a Master’s Degree in International Management from the University of Nottingham (Ningbo, China) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the National University of Lesotho.
