Tokyo, Japan – August 24, 2024 – Japan’s Foreign Minister, Yoko Kamikawa, met with her Cameroonian counterpart, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation in Central Africa.
Minister Kamikawa highlighted Cameroon’s role as a driving force for economic development in the region and expressed Japan’s interest in supporting regional integration and human resources development. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining a free and open international order based on the rule of law.
Minister Mbella Mbella outlined Cameroon’s efforts towards economic development and expressed gratitude for Japan’s support. He also expressed his expectations for strengthening economic relations with Japan.
The two ministers agreed to further develop Japan-Cameroon relations ahead of the upcoming TICAD 9 conference.
