Tokyo, Japan – Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa met with Eswatini Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla on August 23 to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation. The meeting took place in Tokyo ahead of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) Ministerial Meeting.
Minister Kamikawa expressed gratitude for Eswatini’s ongoing support for Japan’s positions in international elections and emphasized the importance of continued close cooperation in the global arena. She also welcomed Eswatini’s plans to establish an embassy in Tokyo, noting that it would further strengthen the bilateral relationship.
Deputy Prime Minister Dladla reciprocated the sentiment, expressing appreciation for Japan’s support and her desire to deepen bilateral ties, particularly in the economic sphere.
Minister Kamikawa highlighted Japan’s interest in expanding cooperation with Eswatini in areas such as food security and education. She also encouraged Japanese companies to invest in Eswatini and expand their businesses there.
Both ministers affirmed their commitment to further developing Japan-Eswatini relations leading up to TICAD 9 next year.
