Botswana Rewards Team Botswana

Gaborone – The Botswana government and private sector have announced substantial incentives for Team Botswana following their impressive performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Leading the pack in terms of rewards is President Mokgweetsi Masisi and First Lady Neo Masisi, who jointly pledged P25,000.00. Vice President Slumber Tsogwane contributed P10,000.00, while Members of Parliament collectively pledged P63,000.00.

Retail giant Choppies has unveiled a P2,450,000.00 incentive package. Star athlete Letsile Tebogo, who clinched the gold medal, will receive a staggering P1 million, along with additional bonuses for the 100m and 200m finals. Coaches and other team members will also benefit from cash rewards and shopping vouchers.

Debswana, De Beers Group, and DTCB contributed a combined P1,080,000.00 to the team, while the Botswana Defence Force donated P575,000.00. Orange Botswana added P700,000.00 to the prize pot.
