South Sudan, UNMISS Vow Cooperation on Humanitarian Crisis

Juba, South Sudan – The South Sudanese government has reiterated its commitment to collaborating with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) to address the country’s humanitarian crisis.

In a meeting with UNMISS Chief of Staff Madam Leda Limann on Tuesday, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Amb. Monday Semaya Kumba, expressed the government’s willingness to work closely with the UN body in finding lasting solutions to the challenges facing the nation.

Kumba welcomed Limann and assured her of the government’s support in addressing humanitarian issues. He emphasized the importance of joint efforts between South Sudan and UNMISS in improving the lives of the people.

The Deputy Minister also highlighted the Foreign Ministry’s role in facilitating cooperation with international partners such as the UN and other development agencies.

In response, Limann congratulated Kumba on his appointment and reaffirmed UNMISS’s dedication to supporting the government and people of South Sudan. She acknowledged the crucial role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in addressing the country’s complex challenges.

Both parties agreed on the need for continued collaboration to overcome the humanitarian crisis and build a stable and prosperous South Sudan.
