Lagos, Nigeria – A new platform inspired by GoFundMe, Fund Naija, has been launched to empower Nigerians within the country to raise funds for various personal initiatives.
This innovative platform is the brainchild of two accomplished Nigerians: Dr. Chris Edeh, a serial entrepreneur with a passion for sustainability in energy, agriculture, and technology, and Adekunle Owolabi, co-founder of Nest Hogins, a company known for its disruptive products in digital journalism, e-commerce, and edutech.
Fund Naija addresses a critical need for accessible fundraising tools within Nigeria. “We created Fund Naija to provide Nigerians with the tools they need to raise funds for various goals in their lives,” explained Dr. Edeh. “Nigeria, like many countries, faces economic challenges. We believe Fund Naija can be a valuable resource for facilitating financial collection and remittance within the country.”

Adekunle Owolabi highlighted the platform’s commitment to user experience and responsible fundraising. “Our priority is a smooth onboarding and return system for users, ensuring accountability,” he said. Fund Naija extends its reach beyond financial support. The platform serves as a sponsor for the upcoming Niger Delta Digital Summit on August 29th, 2024, at the EUI Centre in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. “We want to support the region’s journey towards full digital transformation, empowering them to seize the opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” Owolabi concluded.
