Accra, Ghana – Ghana’s automotive industry received a significant boost yesterday with the launch of two new vehicle models by Zonda Tec Ghana Limited. The highly anticipated Tank 300 and POER pickup trucks mark the arrival of Great Wall Motor (GWM) cars in Ghana, assembled and marketed locally by Zonda Tec.
The launch ceremony, held at the Kotoka International Airport, signifies a major step forward for Ghana’s industrialization strategy. The Deputy Minister for Trade, Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi, praised the vehicles as symbols of “innovation, engineering brilliance, and the spirit of adventure and growth.”

Zonda Tec’s initiative aligns perfectly with Ghana’s Automotive Development Policy, according to Yaw Afriyie, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC). The policy aims to establish a robust domestic automotive sector, and Zonda Tec’s local production of these vehicles expands Ghana’s manufacturing capabilities. Mr. Afriyie further emphasized the GIPC’s unwavering support for Zonda Tec, offering continued liaison services through their Aftercare Division.

Ms. Yang Yang, CEO of Zonda Tec, highlighted the company’s dedication to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. “The Tank 300 and POER pickup models are testaments to this commitment,” she declared. Local assembly aims to provide Ghanaians with superior products while fostering technology transfer and developing local expertise in the automotive sector.
