Mnangagwa Congratulates Ramaphosa on Re-Election

HARARE, Zimbabwe, June 14, 2024 – Zimbabwean President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Cyril Ramaphosa on his re-election as President of South Africa. In a letter addressed to Ramaphosa, Mnangagwa praised the South African leader’s astute leadership and the confidence shown by the South African people in re-electing him.

“This re-election is ample testimony to the great confidence and trust that the people of South Africa repose in your astute leadership,” Mnangagwa wrote. He expressed his commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship and solidarity between Zimbabwe and South Africa, which are united by shared history, culture, and family ties.

Mnangagwa also reiterated his dedication to working closely with Ramaphosa on regional and multilateral levels to advance the regional integration agenda and seek lasting solutions to global challenges. The letter highlighted the importance of collaboration between the two countries in various international forums.

“I take this opportunity to wish you, Your Excellency and Dear Brother, personal good health and success in the discharge of your onerous responsibilities,” Mnangagwa added, assuring Ramaphosa of his unwavering support and cooperation.

The letter concluded with Mnangagwa expressing his highest consideration and respect for Ramaphosa.
