Nine outstanding Liberian students have returned home after a transformative year in the United States, participating in the prestigious Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program.
The Liberian Ministry of Foreign Affairs celebrated the students’ achievements, praising them for their dedication and their representation of Liberia’s values. The U.S. Embassy near Monrovia called the students “precious jewels” and highlighted a visit to the Department of State as a significant moment in their journey.
The YES program is a product of the strong relationship between Liberia and the United States, particularly in education, good governance, and democracy. It offers invaluable opportunities for Liberia’s future leaders to learn, network, and develop skills crucial for building democratic communities, reducing poverty, and strengthening local development.
