Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement celebrating Africa Day (May 25th) and the 61st anniversary of the African Union. The statement underscores Turkey’s commitment to building strong, respectful partnerships with African nations.

“We celebrate Africa Day, a symbol of unity and a continent’s desire for peaceful coexistence,” the Ministry declared. “We value our relationship with Africa, built on mutual respect and equality.”

The statement acknowledges Africa’s growing importance on the global stage. “The African continent increasingly carries the voice of international conscience,” it reads. Turkey emphasizes its commitment to supporting a strong, unified Africa “rooted in the principles of justice and equality.”

Looking ahead, the Ministry highlights the upcoming Third Türkiye-Africa Ministerial Review Conference, scheduled for later this year. This conference, marking 16 years of the Türkiye-Africa Strategic Partnership, aims to further deepen cooperation across all aspects of the relationship.
