The Zambian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has launched a dedicated web portal for Zambians living abroad. This online platform, dubbed the “Zambian Diaspora Web Portal,” aims to bridge the gap between the government and its citizens scattered across the globe.
The portal serves as a one-stop shop for vital information, including government policies, programs, regulations, and procedures. It also provides valuable resources on investment and trade opportunities, empowering Zambians abroad to contribute to the nation’s economic growth.
“The Diaspora community is a vibrant channel of transformation,” said Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, during the launch ceremony held in Lusaka. He acknowledged the significant contributions Zambians abroad have already made in areas like philanthropy, knowledge transfer, and investments.

The Minister further emphasized President Hakainde Hichilema’s recognition of the Diaspora as Zambia’s “11th province,” highlighting their immense value to the country’s development.
This portal is a testament to the government’s commitment to fostering a stronger connection with Zambians abroad. It encourages information exchange and participation, ultimately aiming to improve the flow of global knowledge within Zambia.
The platform welcomes all Zambians abroad, from skilled professionals and entrepreneurs to aspiring students and dedicated migrant workers. It serves as a hub to connect, collaborate, and champion Zambia’s progress.
“We urge all Zambians in the Diaspora to actively utilize this web portal,” said Hon. Haimbe. He encouraged everyone to register online to ensure a smooth flow of communication and strengthen the bond between Zambians at home and abroad.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders involved in creating the portal and commended the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for its unwavering support.
The Zambian Diaspora Web Portal can be accessed at https://www.mofaic.gov.zm/. Zambians attending the launch virtually from across the globe were enthusiastic about this new initiative.
