The two-day event, co-hosted by Nigeria and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), aims to reshape the international community’s approach to terrorism in Africa and prioritize African-led solutions.
President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria declared the summit open, emphasizing the importance of a unified continental front against terrorism. The summit brings together a diverse group of participants, including heads of state from Benin, Ghana, and Togo, along with government officials, representatives from international organizations, and civil society groups.
