ACCRA, Ghana – Kenya reiterated its strong support for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) during a visit by President William Ruto and Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi to the AfCFTA Secretariat in Accra on Wednesday.
Mudavadi applauded the initiatives implemented under AfCFTA Secretary-General Wamkele Mene’s leadership, highlighting their role in strengthening trade and investment ties across Africa.
President Ruto echoed this sentiment, emphasizing Kenya’s unwavering commitment to dismantling trade barriers between African nations. He identified this as a critical driver of rapid economic growth for the continent as a whole.
The AfCFTA, launched in 2019, aims to create a single market for goods and services across Africa, fostering economic integration and boosting prosperity. Kenya’s renewed commitment bodes well for the initiative’s success.
