Banjul, The Gambia – February 11, 2024 – The Gambian government, in a move to boost tourism, trade, and investment, has announced simplified entry procedures for Saudi citizens traveling to the West African nation.
This decision, effective immediately, underscores the strong diplomatic ties between The Gambia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It builds upon the close cooperation between the two countries’ foreign ministries, aiming to fulfill the aspirations of their respective leaders.
“We are delighted to welcome Saudi nationals with open arms,” declared The Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs. “This initiative reflects our commitment to strengthening our relationship with Saudi Arabia and promoting mutually beneficial exchanges.”
Previously, Saudi citizens required visas prior to arrival in The Gambia. Now, they can enjoy visa-free entry for stays up to 30 days, provided they hold valid passports and meet basic immigration requirements.
The streamlined entry process is expected to attract Saudi tourists seeking The Gambia’s pristine beaches, vibrant culture, and rich historical sites. It could also pave the way for increased Saudi investment in The Gambia’s growing economy.
