Dhaka, Bangladesh – Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy, Narek Taryan, met with Bangladeshi Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen today, aiming to reinvigorate bilateral trade and economic ties.
The meeting, echoing the nations’ historical ties, highlighted opportunities for collaboration in promising sectors like IT. Taryan, emphasizing Armenia’s role as a Eurasian trade gateway, expressed interest in joint ventures.
Foreign Secretary Momen welcomed the visit, hoping it would “give a fresh push” to relations, particularly in trade and commerce. He suggested sending a Bangladeshi business delegation to Armenia to explore historical links and build on them for contemporary needs. He also highlighted Bangladesh’s position as a regional connectivity hub.
Taryan welcomed the suggestions and reciprocated the invitation, extending it to the Foreign Secretary for a visit to Armenia.
Leading a four-member delegation, Taryan is on a brief but engaging two-day visit to Bangladesh. The delegation, seeking to expand trade and economic relations, visited the Armenian Church earlier today and has meetings planned with the Ministry of Commerce, Export Promotion Bureau, and Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
