Africa’s Travel Indaba 2024 Gears Up for Record Attendance in Durban

Durban, South Africa – Excitement is brewing as Africa’s Travel Indaba (ATI) 2024 approaches, with a surge in applications from both buyers and exhibitors promising an exceptional event. The continent’s leading tourism trade show, scheduled for May 13-16 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban, is poised to be a vibrant celebration of Africa’s diverse offerings and a powerful commemoration of South Africa’s 30th anniversary of democracy.

Unprecedented Demand for Participation

South African Tourism (SAT) reports a significant increase in applications, underscoring the industry’s eagerness to reconnect and explore new opportunities. “Africa’s Travel Indaba is more than just a gathering; it’s a showcase of Africa’s dynamic tourism landscape,” says Nombulelo Guliwe, acting CEO at SAT. “The overwhelming response highlights its role as a beacon for innovation and connection.”

ATI 2024 promises unparalleled networking opportunities, with buyers and exhibitors from across the globe convening to explore the continent’s rich tapestry of cultures, breathtaking destinations, and unique experiences. Indaba 2023 witnessed remarkable success, welcoming over 8,600 delegates and facilitating over 21,000 meetings between exhibitors and buyers. This year, organizers aim to surpass those numbers, further solidifying ATI’s position as a premier tourism event.

ATI’s success is fueled by the unwavering commitment of key partners like Tourism KwaZulu-Natal (TKZN) and the eThekwini Municipality. Sibusiso Gumbi, acting CEO of TKZN, emphasizes the event’s impact on the provincial economy, boosting hotel occupancy and showcasing the province’s beauty to international buyers.
