Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: Ethiopia is setting its sights on boosting trade with China, with plans to increase exports of agricultural and manufactured goods to the vast Chinese market. This ambition was underscored today as State Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mesganu Arga welcomed a delegation from the Ethio-China Friendship and Cooperation Committee.
The visit, led by Chairperson Mrs. Xu Junjun, signifies a further strengthening of the existing “All-weather Strategic Partnership” between the two nations. Ambassador Arga highlighted the importance of prioritizing trade and investment within this partnership, expressing Ethiopia’s keenness to tap into the immense potential of the Chinese market.
Mrs. Xu echoed this sentiment, praising the Ethio-Chinese relationship and revealing the presence of a 22-member delegation representing ten Chinese companies eager to expand economic and business cooperation. Their focus, she explained, lies in promoting Ethiopian livestock and agricultural products to Chinese consumers.
