DUBAI, UAE – UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a meeting with Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States of America, at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
The two leaders emphasized the importance of COP28 in fostering international cooperation to combat climate change and address the shared challenges faced by all nations. They also highlighted the strong partnership between the UAE and the United States in renewable energy and sustainable development, exploring avenues for further collaboration in these areas.
The meeting also focused on regional and international issues of mutual interest, particularly the latest developments in the Palestinian territories. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working towards a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, protecting civilians, providing secure channels for humanitarian aid delivery, preventing displacement, and pursuing a two-state solution to achieve regional stability and peace.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from both countries, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Ministry of Presidential Court; Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of Supreme Council for National Security; and Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology.
