Lesotho’s Keneuoe Semphi, a 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue a Master of Science degree in Inequality and Society at the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom.
Semphi is a dedicated advocate for social justice and equality. She has worked to promote youth leadership and civic engagement in Lesotho, and is a strong advocate for women’s empowerment and environmental protection.
The U.S. Embassy in Maseru congratulated Semphi on her achievement, saying it exemplifies the transformative power of education and the impact of dedicated individuals striving to make a difference.
Semphi’s studies will focus on understanding the root causes of inequality and developing strategies to address them. She hopes to use her knowledge to help create a more just and equitable society in Lesotho and beyond.
