20th July 2023 – President Hakainde Hichilema of the Republic of Zambia welcomed His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot Bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and his delegation at State House. The meeting marked a significant occasion as several Memoranda of Understanding were signed, focusing on vital areas such as mining, SMEs, and digitalization. These agreements aim to foster deeper bonds between the two brotherly nations.

Expressing gratitude to His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, President Hichilema thanked him for allowing this meaningful visit during Zambia’s pivotal time of reconstructing its economy. The president’s focus is to ensure economic benefits for all citizens through this collaboration.

With a keen interest in learning from the UAE’s remarkable economic journey and past experiences, Zambia aims to expedite its own progress by leveraging these valuable insights for the betterment of its people. The consistent visits by the UAE delegation reflect the strong commitment between the two nations, affirming their shared belief that forging robust partnerships is instrumental in the development of their respective countries.
