Lusaka – In a significant development on the sidelines of the 22nd Summit of COMESA Heads of State and Government, the Government of the Republic of Zambia and the Government of the Republic of Seychelles have entered into a Framework Agreement of Cooperation. The agreement, signed in Lusaka, paves the way for bilateral collaboration between the two nations across various sectors.
The signing ceremony was attended by esteemed officials from both countries, highlighting the commitment to strengthen ties and foster mutually beneficial cooperation. The agreement encompasses key areas such as Trade and Investment, Information and Communication Technology, Energy, Economics, Agriculture, and Tourism, among others.
Representing the Government of Zambia, Ambassador Isabelle Lemba, Permanent Secretary of International Relations and Cooperation, signed the agreement, while His Excellency Mr. Claude Morel, High Commissioner of Seychelles accredited to Zambia, signed on behalf of Seychelles. The signing of the agreement signifies the shared vision of both nations to promote closer cooperation and explore avenues for joint ventures and partnerships.
This framework agreement opens doors for enhanced trade relations, investment opportunities, and knowledge exchange between Zambia and Seychelles. It lays the foundation for collaborative efforts aimed at driving economic growth, harnessing technological advancements, and fostering sustainable development.
