President Hakainde Hichilema honors freedom fighters on African Freedom Day

President Hakainde Hichilema of the Republic of Zambia commemorated African Freedom Day, expressing gratitude to the brave freedom fighters who dedicated their lives to liberating Africa from colonialism. The President, following a cherished tradition, laid wreaths at the Freedom Statue as a profound tribute to these heroic individuals.

The day’s events commenced with solemnity as President Hichilema and fellow citizens gathered to honor the memory and sacrifice of the freedom fighters. The wreaths, carefully placed at the foot of the Freedom Statue, served as a powerful symbol of deep respect for these brave men and women who fought for Africa’s liberation.

Upholding his constitutional authority, President Hichilema conducted an investiture ceremony at State House, where deserving citizens were bestowed with honors and awards. This momentous occasion served as a poignant reminder of the significance of African Freedom Day, recognizing the immense contributions made by individuals in pursuit of freedom and justice.
