UAE backs efforts for regional stability and peace: Mansour bin Zayed

JEDDAH, 19th May, 2023 – His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court, reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates’ unwavering support for initiatives aimed at fostering stability and peace in the region.

Speaking at the 32nd Arab Summit held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Mansour emphasized the significance of cooperation as the key to achieving development and prosperity in the Arab region.

Expressing his gratitude, Sheikh Mansour extended his appreciation to King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and King of Saudi Arabia, as well as to Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, for their gracious hospitality and the excellent preparations made for the summit.

In addition, Sheikh Mansour acknowledged Algeria for its previous role as the president of Arab summits and commended the Secretariat-General of the Arab League for organizing the current summit.

Addressing the challenges faced by the region, Sheikh Mansour highlighted some positive developments that offer hope for the resolution of local conflicts. He emphasized the importance of building upon these achievements to drive progress and success.

Sheikh Mansour extended his congratulations to Syria for its reinstatement among friendly nations during the summit. He expressed his hope that Syria would overcome its current difficulties and attain stability and prosperity.

Furthermore, Sheikh Mansour urged Arab nations to capitalize on positive developments to strengthen cooperation and establish economic and developmental partnerships.

Turning his attention to Sudan, Sheikh Mansour appealed to the Sudanese people to engage in dialogue and compromise to resolve their issues and overcome the country’s crisis. He expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its pivotal role in facilitating talks in Sudan and helping to break the political deadlock.

Concluding his participation in the 32nd Arab League Summit, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan departed from Jeddah, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to regional stability and its dedication to collaborative efforts that foster peace and prosperity in the Arab world.
